Chapter 2
“Papa, it’s my violin lesson, you have to come.” It was the usual scenario between a certain redhead girl and his father every time they discuss about things they don’t usually agreed with.
“Kallen, you know that I’m busy these past days, it is almost Christmas and the company is loaded with transactions.”
“But you promised. You always break your promises. What is so hard in accompanying me to my violin class?”
Len grunted, pinching the bridge of his nose before responding once more. “Can you ask your grandmother instead. I honestly can’t go with you this time.” His voice remained in a calm note, avoiding raising a single pitch in front of his daughter, especially when he was at fault.
He did give her his words of promises, unfortunately, to both, the season was not about to be lenient in dealing with promises. It just so happened that his schedule got even tighter than his past three years working. It was unexpected, and to make the thing worse, it needed more attention than anything else. .
Len had this look of repentance in his eyes, however, it abruptly evaporated into confusion as he noticed the glint in his daughter’s eyes. Alive golden sparks danced in the pools of brown, as a knowing smile adorned the small lips of the child. “Alright, but grandmother can’t come as well. Can I ask somebody else to go with me?”
Once the girl said somebody, Nami’s name registered in his mind. She was not a good babysitter, but she was not that bad at all. Without asking whom could that somebody be, Len answered back. “Ok, be careful.” Knowing it might be Nami. Nevertheless, that was what he thought.
